I have a passion for product development and the healthcare setting, and have been privileged to work with energetic, committed professionals focused on patients and their needs. I have been able to impact the "front end" of the design and development in roles steering delivery system innovation and design, Human Factors and usability, and portfolio management. At Lilly, I was honored to lead the team that created over a dozen drug delivery devices; taking them from concept to reality. These devices make a difference in countless patients' lives every day. To help create products which meet the needs of real-life consumers is invigorating beyond words. After “retiring” from Lilly In January 2015, I joined Abbvie's Combination Product Development group, where I led the Human Factors group. Since 2020, I have partnered with asset teams in understanding patient needs and exploring delivery needs for pre-phase 2 candidates, to help weave these needs into delivery systems to support early clinical work as well as commercial presentation. I have been involved in the US and International Standards (ISO) Community sInce working with passionate, knowledgeable Medical Device and Standards personnel from all over the world to create standards which "raise the bar" in Patient Safety in this regulated industry. In addition to being an Expert or Convener for various committees, I was the Industry Co-Chair for US TC84 TAG from 2004-2020. I was recently asked to be ISO International Chair for TC84 from 2022-2024, an honor I am pleased to accept.
