About Bob Rouse

I started my career in the construction industry as a shop fitter with a Bristol Based Shop fitting company undertaking the refitting of superstores throughout the UK, Namley Dixons, Currys, and Supersnap retail stores, I remained with this company for 3.5yrs. I then worked for an Exeter based construction company for 11yrs carrying out carpentry 1st and 2nd fix works on projects ranging from 5k to 750k, within this period I progressed from Carpenter to site Foreman and eventually to Site Agent. Wanting to further my career I then worked with a large construction company based in Plymouth which I joined as Site Agent, whilst working for this company I gained membership to the CIOB this provided me with ACIOB status. I commenced employment with EBC Sleeman as a Site Manager in Feb 2001, during my employment I gained an NVQ 4 in Site Management, which then provided me with ICIOB status. After a further 3 yrs I joined the Southwest region of Dean and Dyball as a Site Manager. Within two years I had progressed to Project Manager, During 2007 I was short listed for Construction Manager of the year and gained highly commended for a prestigious local project I managed. Dean and Dyball was then acquired by Balfour Beatty. I worked as a Senior Project Manager for Mansell for a period of two years during this time I spent 6 months with the pre-construction team undertaking planning, programming and logistics for regional tender submissions, I was then promoted to contracts manager during Aug 2011 where I was fronting a 6 yr P21+ framework for RCHT whilst undertaking the PHNT works at Derriford. In May 2012 I joined Interserve construction as a project manager to manage the construction of the Help for Hero’s multi million pound rehabilitation facility within Devonport dockyard. Following successful completion in March 2014 I took a slight career change and became Operations Director for a well established fabrication company. I returned to Interserve in June 2015 as a Senior Project Manager to oversee more sizable projects throughout the Southwest, I was promoted in 2017 to Contracts Manager.
