Despite being told I couldn’t find a job in biology. I channeled my determination and moved from West Texas to the enchanting landscapes of Alaska. There, I found my purpose as a field salmon biologist with the state of Alaska. Working amidst the breathtaking wilderness, I counted hundreds of thousands of salmon using sonar during the peak of salmon runs. In those moments, I felt the pulsating life energy of these incredible creatures, reaffirming my love for the natural world. My journey is a testament to the power of pursuing one’s passion against all odds.
