This is backed up with substantial manufacturing experience spanning many sectors. And in my spare time I do some home brewing. I have been in environmental consulting for over 20 years. In that time I have helped many people improve their environmental compliance and reduce costs. Often I have heard clients say that they want to comply with legislation or gain ISO 14001 but that the costs are too high. However, in all cases we have dealt with we have enabled compliance AND reduced associated environmental costs. The following examples illustrate this * A manufacturer of agricultural machinery was illegally disposing of wash water to a nearby stream. We analysed the effluent and suggested that the #effluent was suitable to top up the sumps of the wet back spray booths. The result - compliance and reduced water usage.* A joinery works was illegally disposing of #solvent waste via the general waste skip. We advised a solvent still to reclaim waste solvent. The solvent still paid for itself in 6 months.* A meat packing plant was breaching the limit for phosphate in its effluent discharge. Detergent use was significant and the client believed them to be phosphate free. Analysis showed the supplier's claims were proved false.
