I wrote this so many years ago. I keep it for nostalgia of the young coder with the big dreams) John Cuzack in Say Anything summed it up better than I can:"I'm looking for that dare to be great situation". Specialties: C++ is my specialty, but I've coded almost everything. Getting work done, beating deadlines, writing quality code and designing a maintainable architecture is what I do and highly enjoy. My positions have put me in situations where I work with a lot of other people's code. Mixing my game development with the business world has afforded me great opportunity, especially when it comes to figuring out how to speed up legacy code. I've worked for a few startups over my career and I really enjoy the challenge of taking someone's ideas and dreams and making them reality. To me the project does not really matter as much as the challenge. I'm most focused on creating a great finished product. It's sometimes hard to explain what I bring to the table in an interview. You have to look at my portfolio, my body of work. For over ten years I've been creating and selling my own software in my free time. Tens of thousands of users around the globe use my products. This is commercial level software in which I not only do the coding, but I also manage the effort and run the business. I have an international team of 20 people in all walks of life contributing. I teach them how to create software and then we all work together to create great products. There's over 100k lines of code, art, scenario design, historically accurate maps, multiple languages, manuals, music, sound effects, historical research, just about everything to make delivering software very difficult. I manage the effort, create the and manage the website, write the installers, manage the servers, train the QA staff, the customer support staff, all aspects of a full time software company, and I do this in my spare time. It's around a 10gb install of software. When I say I 'get things done', I have the portfolio to back it up.
