About Bogdan Istrate

Assoc. Prof. PhD. Istrate Bogdan, ”Gh. Asachi” Technical University of Iasi – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, has expertise in characterizing biodegradable and biocompatible alloys, thermal coatings (atmospheric plasma spraying) and modern methods of micro and nanostructural characterization (SEM and XRD). He has published as an author/co-author over 120 ISI / BDI scientific papers, of which 40 with ISI impact factor (10 - Q1 (4 first author); 10 - Q2 (3 first author)), 32 ISI Proceedings and the rest Scopus indexed and is mentioned in a number of over 220 ISI / BDI citations (h-index ISI: 9; h-index Scopus: 10). He is the co-author of an OSIM patent and 6 OSIM patent applications, of which 4 patent applications are in the field of Mg-based alloys. He has published 2 books as the first author and 1 laboratory guide. Within the research-development projects, he led as research partner/manager 4 research contracts and has been a member of 13 other research project teams. Also, in 2019 he won the "Gheorghe Vasilcă" award in the field of advanced materials tribology, offered by the National Institute of Aerospace Research - INCAS Bucharest, and in 2020 he won the EXCELLENCE AWARD, in the category "A young researcher with the best performance in scientific research ”, offered by the“ Gheorghe Asachi ”Technical University of Iași.
