About Bomee Lee

My first chapter in life was deeply tied to sports and translation. I co-managed the most-followed Korean basketball community on Facebook, worked as an online reporter for Jumpball magazine, and served as interpreter for professional teams such as Hana Bank Women’s Basketball and Heungkuk Life Women’s Volleyball. I also supported national teams as an interpreter at major international events including the Asian Games and the Asian Para Games. Driven to give back, I founded and ran a nonprofit for over a decade, providing free English education to retired athletes and student-athletes. Wanting to further deepen my skills, I joined MBC as a foreign news translator while pursuing graduate studies in translation. As AI reshaped the translation field—turning much of the work into post-editing—MBC’s foreign news translation team itself was dissolved. That became my turning point: I shifted into copy translation and transcreation, and eventually into copywriting. Today, I am building a new chapter as a copywriter at PAULUS, under the guidance of CD Saffan Qadir and Master Thomas Hong-tak Kim. My goal is to become Korea’s most distinctive English copywriter—bridging language, culture, and creativity in ways that resonate both locally and globally.
