Background

About Bonnie Johnson

Twenty years of excelling in customer service, project management, and quality assurance. Key responsibilities in my current role are to coordinate and track donor activity, manage and monitor overall Development budget, support Trustee Committees (Campaign and External Engagement), coordinate National and Local Presidential Donor Events, and support travel for President, VP, and AVP. I’m Chair of Furman University’s President's Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Subcommittee for Staff Recruitment, Advancement, & Training(SRAT). SRAT works with HR on status of committee's recommendations regarding staff hiring and training process. Assess and make recommendations for staff development and promotion, especially for staff from historically underrepresented groups. I’m a Certified Diversity Trainer through NCBI - National Coalition Building Institute (Schweiz). In addition, I’m an elected member of Furman’s Staff Advisory Council (Staff AC). The Staff AC is a group of staff representatives and advocates who promote the University’s Mission by fostering a sense of campus community, creating strategies to enhance staff morale, advising campus leadership on matters relating to and affecting the staff of Furman, and providing a voice in campus issues. And for the Office of Development I’m an active member of our Professional Development Committee where our objective and goals are to prioritize DEI education and practices in all work of the committee, foster positive interpersonal relationships among staff, and foster positive interpersonal and working relationships with other campus departments.
