About Bonnie Porter

Scam alert: I only use the @firstround.com email domain. Messages from any other domain claiming to be me are fraudulent. Please report them to your email provider and the FTC: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ At First Round, I work with early-stage founders and companies on some of their most important early hires, while also supporting broader conversations around team structure, hiring strategy, and how early people practices take shape. My work sits at the intersection of recruiting and people operations - thinking not just about who to hire, but how teams are built, supported, and scaled over time. People and relationships have always been at the center of my career, which naturally led me into recruiting and broader people work. I’m grateful to have been part of First Round’s Recruiter Track and now the talent team, where I continue to deepen both my recruiting and people ops perspective. Before First Round, I worked at remote-first companies like Buffer, partnering closely with customers and community members to build strong relationships and provide thoughtful support. I’ve also worked in database management and in the nonprofit space - experiences that shaped how I approach operations, communication, and working across different types of organizations. Across all of my roles, I’ve found that the most meaningful work sits at the intersection of people, trust, and building something that lasts. A few tidbits: karaoke is one of my favorite activities, and I’ve never met a senior dog I didn’t love.
