About Boris Borisov

With over 18 years of engineering experience in the production industry, I am a seasoned leader and a lean manufacturing expert. I have a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams, overseeing plant engineering activities, and implementing process improvement initiatives that deliver significant savings and quality outcomes. As the former Head of Plant Engineering at Festo, a global leader in industrial automation, I directed units responsible for project management, production equipment, software for EOL testing, technologies, standards and methods, prototype shop, manufacturing IT, and maintenance. I also provided mentorship and guidance to the team to achieve performance goals, maintaining equipment technical availability above 95% and reducing maintenance costs. In 2023, I led process improvement initiatives that resulted in 2.9 million euros in savings for the company. I am passionate about applying my engineering and leadership skills to drive operational excellence and innovation in the production industry. I hold a master's degree in ANP from the Technical University Sofia and I am CPIM certified by APICS. I also have extensive training in leadership methods, lean processes, and value stream mapping. I am fluent in English, German, and Russian and have strong communication and collaboration skills.
