About Boris Cheval
Dr. Boris Cheval mainly investigates the socio-economical and neuro-bio-behavioral mechanisms underlying the regulation of physical activity and how an active lifestyle impacts health from a life-course perspective. He has published more than 100 articles and 1 book on these topics. After an initial academic background in France in the domain of Movement and Sports Sciences, he joined the Methodology and Data Analysis Group (University of Geneva) as a postdoc to develop advanced skills in statistics. During his second and third postdocs at the University Hospital of Geneva and at the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) LIVES, he strengthened his research in physical activity with a focus on health and socio-economic inequalities. In 2019, he has been awarded by a competitive scholarship from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF, EUR) to pursue his research at the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (University of Geneva). In 2023, Dr. Cheval joined the École Normale Supérieure de Rennes Assistant Professor to strengthen his research on the neuropsychological determinants of physical activity.
