About Boris Sovak

I am tax professional with more than 17 years of extensive tax experience. I am leading the establishment and extensive growth of Tax & Customs Competence Centre of ams Osram Group. Since July 2022 started on green field with few employees and entities, my responsibility comprises in 2025 over 40 registrations across 20 European countries, managing 3 teams with 2 team leaders, 21 direct and indirect reports in my organization. My teams are responsible for tax compliance (Europe), TP & Tax Accounting HUB (globally) and customs operations (Germany). I am highly skilled in area of CIT, VAT, transfer pricing, withholding tax and excise tax, focusing on tax strategy, mitigation of tax risks and seeking for tax opportunities. In the organization I work for, I am acknowledged for my strategy thinking, great sense for communication, stakeholder management and can-do approach. Having people and project management skills, extensive exposure and communication with senior management/leadership, with internal and external customers on the first place. Speaking fluently English and German with wide tax and management experience. Interested in innovations, tax technology and environmental challenges.
