About Boryana Mintcheva

Boryana qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor in 2002 and accepted the position of an Audit Partner in the same year. In addition, she obtained an MBA from the UCT's Graduate School of Business in 2005. Boryana joined BDO South Africa as an Audit partner in September 2010 and later joined BDO Global Office in September 2023. She brings over 20 years of experience in the auditing profession as an Audit Partner of a variety of international and local businesses and organisations. Boryana is passionate and has a strong focus on Audit Quality and performs international assurance quality reviews across the BDO network. She was a member of the National Internal Monitoring and Remediation team of the South African Firm. Part of her time was dedicated assisting other firms in the BDO network to improve Audit Quality on listed and high risk audit engagements, including providing practical training and on the job assistance to remediate audit deficiencies. Previously, she was a member of the National EQR team of the South African Firm, served on the National Technical and Risk committees from 2010 to 2018 and was a member of the SAICA Southern Region Public Sector Committee for number of years. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, reading, spending time with her family and friends.
