About Boyce Mkhize

Currently, Advocate Boyce Mkhize is the Chief Ombud and CEO at the Community Schemes Ombud Service (CSOS), a public entity under the Department of Human Settlements. This entity is responsible for enrolling and regulating community schemes (estates, homeowners associations, body corporates etc) in the property sector as well adjudication of disputes. Adv. Mkhize started off his career as a Human Rights lawyer at the University of KZN Community Law Centre NPO and proceeded to Join the Constitutional Assembly for constitution drafting and then got into Government responsible for transformation policy development and implementation. He became Chief of Staff in the Office of the Minister for Public Service and Administration, then HR Director at Home Affairs whereafter he joined the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) as Chief Legal Advisor and Company Secretary. Mkhize then proceeded to head the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as CEO and Registrar for 10years, thereafter headed the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR), also as CEO. Mkhize then joined the Mpumalanga Economic Growth Agency responsible for overseeing development finance disbursements and business incubation and economic stimulation in underprivileged communities underlined by entrepreneurial approach. In all of these settings, he was responsible for driving strategy development, review and implementation. After MEGA, Mkhize then joined SekelaXabiso as Director: Forensics leading a team of Forensic Investigators in several forensic investigation assignments. Mkhize is a Certified Fraud Examiner and has a wealth of experience on fraud risk management, corporate governance, PFMA and other public sector compliance frameworks. From SekelaXabiso he then led his own practice in law as well as forensic investigations coupled with organizational redesign and corporate governance consulting for several public sector clients. He specialized in data analytics, fraud prevention and detection, forensic investigations and labour law support, including legal compliance. Mkhize is currently leading the CSOS as its Chief Ombud and CEO.
