About Brad Ausman

I led a very active childhood, and it was not uncommon to rise with the sun explore the world and return home again just before the sun passed the horizon. TV shows were not a regular event, but that is not to say that it did not shape my childhood. Two shows formed the ethos my summer and after school activities. The first was the A-Team. I thought B.A. Baracus was the coolest guy on the planet. No one messed with BA, and he stood up for the little guy. I have a strong sense of integrity and righting the injustices in the world resonated with me. The second show was MacGyver, the practical application of science and everyday objects in novel ways that others missed was something I experienced regularly. The ability to see the parts of a problem or desired solution and recombine them in alternative or novel ways has served me well and is still something in which I take joy and pride. Growing up in Colorado and spending time on my grandparent's farm allowed me to develop a hardy work ethic and appreciation of education. In college, I was fortunate enough combine my size and work ethic to earn a football scholarship. The ability to dig in for a common goal and trust others to do their parts is something I carry with me in my leadership and management style today. In my second semester at Penn State, I secured a working assistantship offering instructional design and technical experience. I was able to stride the line of business and academia. I put theory into practice and made novel connections where others may not have seen them. The MacGyver of the educational space in a manner of speaking. Moving beyond Penn State, I have worked for most of a decade at ACT, putting theory into practice and operating as a program manager and fixer for the tough programs. I transitioned industries to manufacturing in 2018, taking on product management of IoT solutions in the utility install space. Vermeer is a fantastic organization and leading the way in most of the markets we serve. Supporting and directing 4 development teams with vision and market based direction on our next issues has been a good fit. I love learning about new topics and jumping in and doing has been most exciting. Our teams have seen great success and continue ensure the building of infrastructure around the globe focused on saving time, saving money, and keeping people safe. We build certainty!
