Information and network security background with prior expertise in GLBA compliance. I am a strong advocate for building a strong security foundation to meet basic network security requirements then introducing sophisticated security layers on that foundation. Current Network Security Engineer responsibilities- Work closely with network and application administration department personnel to implement security configurations - Implement network segmentation for compliance and secure configurations - IP traffic analysis for firewall ACL configurations - Firewall/IPS configuration, administration and monitoring - Manage SEIM tools - Manage web and email filter appliances - DLP configuration and deployment - Manage security reports In my prior position at a financial institution my first challenge was building an Information Security Program from the ground up. This included all the related policies such as acceptable use, incident response, vendor and change management. Other supporting procedures, standards and company wide security training curriculum development. That program went on to earn the highest FDIC rating of a number one. I enjoy my current work environment and the variety my position offers. I get much satisfaction out of solving new challenges and making a difference where my job responsibilities are concerned. Related experience: In my role as Network Manager, I focused on security and worked extensively with Cisco wide area networks and Cisco ACL configurations to secure the core server network from remote network segments.
