Background

About Brad Face

Brad Face enjoys bringing innovative ideas and worthwhile projects to fruition, both in his business and civic efforts. Professionally, this has included his roles in: • inventing error-avoidance features used by all Internet of Things wireless protocols which were described in some of the 50 U.S. patents in which he is listed as an inventor; • leading the development and commercial launches of Face X, LLC's patent-pending PulseStar® technologies for the mitigation of the existential threat of an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) event and the soon-to-be-announced patent-pending SupremeAire™ air purification technology; • developing variations and applications of The Face® Companies' new Evergreen® energy harvesting technologies; • helping to drive the concrete industry's adoption of F-Numbers – Face Floor Profile Numbers – now a global standard for concrete profile control and specification; and • broadening the worldwide sales (now to 66 countries) of the Face® Dipstick® Floor and Road Profiler. The dozens of civic and cultural projects in which he has participated include: • 40 years working to improve regional cooperation among the 17 jurisdictions of Hampton Roads, Virginia, including a decade as president of The Future of Hampton Roads, the region's "think tank"; • the revitalization of the National Historic District in Smithfield, Virginia, and the restoration of that town's landmark 1750 Courthouse; • the co-founding of Virginians for High Speed Rail and the successful return of train service to Norfolk, Virginia; and • the rediscovery and exhibition of the paintings of his great-grandfather, Belgian Post-Impressionist Louis Dewis. Brad was a radio and television newscaster and sportscaster from 1970 to 1985. After he left broadcasting, he provided media relations services for LPGA and Senior PGA golf tournaments and co-produced a nationally telecast tennis match from Norfolk Scope in 1987. At the request of regional leaders including Henry Clay Hofheimer, Thomas P. Chisman, and Admiral Harry D. Train II, Brad created the Sports Opportunity Group for The Future of Hampton Roads in 1984. For the next 15 years, he led every regional effort to bring major league sports facilities and franchises to Hampton Roads, helping to create the two regional sports authorities, both of which he chaired, and in so doing laid the groundwork for what became the Hampton Roads Sports Commission in
