About Brad Haley

I am an editor. I love to make a vision come to life in the edit bay. I have accumulated over 20 years of professional experience in episodic reality television, short film, feature film sound, direct marketing and advertising, broadcast news, and corporate video. I landed my first gig as a production assistant and assistant editor at the age of 18 at Texas Workers Compensation Insurance Fund where I realized that I could actually make my childhood passion of filmmaking into a lucrative career. So I decided to make the art my major at the University of Texas at Austin. I couldn't have chosen a more rewarding field of study which paved the way to a top notch education and multiple internships that led to paid jobs. I scored my first job as an editor at KEYE-TV just as I was completing my degree in My experience in broadcast news editing was a superb training ground in meeting multiple tight deadlines everyday. However, after working my way up to Senior News Editor at the CBS station, I realized that local news was not my calling, and I made the move to Los Angeles to further pursue my dream. I answered an online posting and shortly thereafter I found myself producing, directing and editing infomercials at Alchemy Worldwide. I remained on staff for 6 years, but I decided that my talents were being marginalized in the advertising world. So in 2008 I left the comforts of my full-time position in favor of the freelance lifestyle where I could expand my network and body of work. I have focused my talents on unscripted television for the past 10 years. I have found documentary television to be incredibly rewarding as an editor. The position requires a high level of creativity and challenges my story-telling ingenuity.
