About Brad Jackson

I am an experienced leader with over ten years working in higher education environments at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, and Thompson Rivers University. At The University of British Columbia, I developed new methodologies in cognitive linguistics and multimodal communication, contributing significantly to the arts and humanities. I have secured over in grants, enabling me to present groundbreaking research on international stages. As a Graduate Researcher, my role has been pivotal in designing and managing extensive research projects, culminating in multiple peer-reviewed publications in the film journals "Projections" and the "Baltic Screen Media Review," and presentations at more than 10 international conferences on Cognition and the Arts. Recently, my work as a Project Assistant in Digital Communications and Learning Design for the UBC Sauder School of Business saw me successfully weave Indigenous perspectives into the business education curriculum. This has not only advanced the institution's reconciliation and decolonization initiatives but has also enhanced the pedagogical approach to teaching Indigenous topics. My expertise in curriculum development, grounded in a deep understanding of academic systems, has been essential in creating resources that resonate with educators and students alike by developing a more informed and respectful learning environment. I have developed and taught a broad range of courses in English Literature, Art History & Visual Studies, Video Games Studies, and Communications across The University of British Columbia, The University of Victoria, and Thompson Rivers University.
