About Brad Jokisch
I am a geographer and a Latin Americanist. I research issues at the nexus of migration, environment, and development, and I teach several courses on these subjects. Most of my research has been in the Ecuadoran Andes. I recently conducted research in southern Ecuador as a Fulbright Scholar and published a book titled Latin America and the Caribbean: and Environment and Development Approach (Rowman and Littlefield). The Fulbright research examines the development of family emigration to the United States. The initial part of this project was published at the Migration Policy Institute and more publications are in the works. A few years ago, I was the Chair of Conference of Latin American Geography and Director of Latin American Studies at Ohio University.
