About Brad Kaes

As a Full Stack Software Developer at a leading title company, my professional journey has been rich with opportunities to hone my technical skills. My ultimate aspiration is to leverage this expertise to improve accessibility and quality of life for people with disabilities. I am inspired by groundbreaking assistive technologies like the "Orcam MyEye", and I look forward to creating impactful solutions that facilitate everyday experiences. My commitment to ethical AI was shaped by an enriching experience building AI solutions from the ground up a year before the renaissance of ChatGPT. This journey imparted crucial insights into the ethical use of machine learning, reinforcing my belief in the need for AI systems to be transparent, fair, and accountable. To me, maintaining ethical, open, and transparent boundaries is not just desirable, it's non-negotiable. Open-source technologies hold a special place in my professional ethos. I firmly believe that they level the playing field, sparking innovation by promoting free and open knowledge sharing. This democratization of technology is especially significant for empowering our youth and underprivileged communities. There's a unique joy in tinkering, creating, and transforming the abstract into the tangible, and open-source tech provides a fantastic platform for this exploration. Outside of my professional life, I am deeply connected to an array of passions that enrich my perspective and some also contribute to my work. I have a profound appreciation for nature and animals. I am enthusiast of 3D printing, homelab networking, and hardware automation. Each of these interests allows me to explore technology's breadth and depth, revealing innovative possibilities and challenging my problem-solving skills. I particularly enjoy immersing myself in hardware projects, such as tinkering with ESP32s. These hands-on experiences not only push the boundaries of my technical expertise, but also fuel my creativity. I find that these pursuits often yield fresh insights and novel approaches that enrich my professional work, reminding me that sometimes, the most enlightening solutions arise when we blur the lines between work and play.
