I'm an award-winning writer, editor and communications specialist who has written more than 300 articles for the likes of The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, National Post, CBC, CBCNews.ca, Ottawa Citizen, Toronto Life, Maclean's, Canada's History Magazine, the Sunday Mail, Quill & Quire, enRoute, University Affairs, Canadian Medical Association Journal, NOW and Eye. I excel at finding the human side of a story and telling it precisely and professionally. I currently manage the national and internal Communications department of the First Nations Information Governance Centre (FNIGC), where I oversee the organizations communications to 634 First Nations reserve and northern communities across Canada. Incorporated in 2010 and headquartered in Akwesasne, FNIGC is Canada's premier source of quality information about First Nations people living on-reserve and in Northern communities. FNIGC's goal is to build capacity and provide credible and relevant information on First Nations using the highest standards of data research practices, while respecting the rights of First Nations self-determination and the principles of OCAP™ (Ownership, Control, Access and Possession).
