About Braden Walker

I am a 4th year mechanical engineering student with a concentration in energy resources at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Throughout my time in college I have embraced the ideal of learn by doing through classes and labs, and participation in engineering and academic clubs on campus. On top of this, in my free time I work to increase my engineering knowledge by working in the on campus machine shop, utilizing SOLIDWORKS and a personal 3D printer to build proficiency in solid modeling and additive manufacturing, and self teaching engineering tools such as the Arduino. I oversaw and implemented the engineering design on a solar updraft tower research project in which three other individuals and myself built a functioning prototype of this relatively unexplored form of sustainable energy. Through my activities in and out of the classroom I have worked to become a well-rounded engineer and I will continue improve upon myself so I can make the greatest positive impact on the world.
