Background

About Bradley D. Adams

Not your average pharmacist, nor your typical journey to arrive in healthcare. 20 years after graduation from college, a couple careers and enough travel and experiences for a lifetime, it was time for a change to something that ignites my passions. One of the most difficult challenges of my life was my return to university, but it has resulted in such a positive evolution. It was a true test of my work ethic, perseverance and ability to overcome adversity. Travel and living abroad has provided a very diverse collection of experiences and opportunities, but the most important takeaway I have gained is the knowledge that there is so much I don’t know. Whether it be the respect of learning someone else’s language while I lived in their country or the differences in cultures that can help us to better understand another’s perspective, I make sure to always try to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes. At the very least you might learn something from that experience, but it also might change your life in ways you least expected. I am a voracious reader and though I am working as a pharmacy manager, I try to read at least one book a month. I have a diverse palate for different subjects from world history to scientific chronicles, and from autobiographies to management/leadership guidance. Knowledge seeking is a major attribute to my personality and I do my best to try and always learn from others in their own language and communication style. As such, I have taken the time to learn Russian, French and studied Mandarin, but currently have been learning American Sign Language as even as a student pharmacist I have been presented with opportunities to help patients who are deaf or hard of hearing. I am seeking a position that can utilize my skills and 15-year proven track record of leadership, professionalism and innovating character. After graduating with my PharmD from UBC, I am pursuing a role that allows me to employ my eye for detail and creativity established from working in some of the world's top restaurants, that exercises the discretion, trust and collaboration abilities I developed in the mortgage world, and puts me in a role where I can inspire and innovate as I did with my team of over 120 while living in Russia. My life experience, problem solving nature and compassion for others uniquely equips me to integrate into, and enrich the pharmacy teams I become a part of. Connect with me! I would love to learn more of your story too. “I walked a mile in your shoes. Now I’m a mile away and I’ve got your shoes.”- Kings of Leon
