About Bradley Dobin

I draw upon my 18 years of deep financial experience – including valuable time spent as an institutional trader – to serve an affluent and educated clientele: financial and technology executives, engineers, physicians and other medical professionals, attorneys, and successful business owners (many whose 401(k) plans I've developed. Since joining Merrill in 2009, I've managed three portfolios for clients on a discretionary basis. One is a cash flow-driven "total return, enhanced income" portfolio that uses an equity covered call strategy to help bolster returns and limit downside. I also offer an equity-only portfolio and a fixed-income laddered bond portfolio. My passion? Connecting the dots for clients between their investments, insurance and liability needs. To enhance their overall wealth, I tell clients to work hard to pay off mortgages, open 529 plans for children, and use after-tax vehicles. My philosophy? Be holistic and realistic. Before scrutinizing investments, I may suggest securities-based lending through Bank of America N.A. to refinance corporate debt, launch a business, or purchase real estate. Of course, investments are critical, but they're only part of a well-crafted wealth management or retirement strategy. My special focus? Working with malpractice attorneys. My extensive knowledge of structured settlements helps me consult on how a particular settlement will benefit a client. It's rewarding to serve as a resource to attorneys and clients who've endured life-changing events. I enjoy explaining the details and outcomes of predictable returns. As a former Michigan State University baseball player and graduate, I remind clients that generating consistent returns is a matter of "hitting singles and doubles" – not swinging for homeruns. By over-educating and over-delivering, I aim to build client confidence that extends to their personal and professional lives.
