About Bradley Ramsay

I have worked as an environmental scientist with Paragon Professional Services and Jacobs Engineering in Anchorage, AK for the last seven years. I am particularly interested in remediation of soil and water contamination, and I am very excited to be heading into the field to assist in solving the problems we face in environmental health. In the last seven years, I accumulated a great deal of field and writing experience. I've authored work plans and final reports for a variety of Alaska projects with ADEC and EPA approval. I am also fully capable with GIS and scripting applications in Python and php. Further, I have had much hands-on time using and maintaining a vast array of different instrumentation including a Metrohm IC, numerous visible and UV specrophotometers, a GE Healthcare/Amersham Pharmacia FPLC, a BIO-RAD FPLC, a Zeiss TEM, a Roche GSJr 454 pyrosequencer, and many different thermocyclers. In my 'spare time,' you'll find me scuba diving, refereeing ice hockey games, playing in the symphony, or running around with my camera photographing whatever neat things I find. Specialties: Field work, soil/groundwater/surface water/sediment sampling, technical writing of work plans and reports in compliance with ADEC and EPA standards, GIS mapping, water rights claims analysis, data analysis, Python and php application scripting, IC, FPLC, GC, HPLC, instrument maintenance, teaching/training, next generation sequencing and associated data handling, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, microbial community analysis, lab work.
