Background
About Bradley Thames
I’m an experienced instructional designer and educational technologist with a PhD in philosophy and over 25 years in higher education—designing, teaching, and supporting online, in-person, and blended learning environments. My work is driven by a deep commitment to thoughtful, student-centered education and to helping faculty create engaging, accessible, and pedagogically sound courses that respond to the needs of today's students. Over the past decade, I’ve consulted with individual instructors and institutional teams to build effective learning experiences that reflect best practices in design, technology integration, and inclusive teaching. I’m known for translating complex technical and conceptual ideas into clear, actionable strategies and for working well with a wide range of faculty, from those wary of or not as proficient with newer technology to the most seasoned and savvy adapters. Currently, I’m especially focused on the evolving role of AI in education, staying at the forefront of research and dialogue on its ethical, practical, and pedagogical implications. My background in philosophy gives me a unique lens through which to analyze and guide conversations around AI, academic integrity, human-centered design, and the future of learning. Strengths & Specializations: • Designing and facilitating innovative, accessible learning experiences • Faculty development and instructional consulting • Articulate and persuasive written and verbal communication • Analytical insight and creative problem-solving • Bridging the gap between tech and pedagogy with clarity and empathy • Rapid adaptability and continuous learning in a changing educational landscape Whether building a course, leading a workshop, or exploring the future of teaching in an AI-driven world, I bring thoughtfulness, precision, and a passion for elevating learning in all its forms.
