Background
About Brady Breon
Since my early teens, I have been involved in emergency services. I joined my local volunteer fire company as a junior member at the age of 14 and became certified as an EMT at the age of 16. After graduating from high school, I attended the Williamsport Hospital Paramedic Training Institute. At the conclusion of my paramedic training, I successfully passed my Pennsylvania State and National Registry paramedic examinations and began my journey as a certified paramedic. The first 25 years of my paramedic career was spent working both full and part-time as a staff paramedic for various ALS services in Northcentral Pennsylvania. The majority of that time, just over 20-years, was spent working for the Williamsport Hospital in a hospital based 911 ALS service. In I was promoted to a Platoon Chief in the Williamsport Hospital system. Shortly thereafter, I also began to teach part-time as an adjunct instructor at Penn College’s paramedic training program. In 2005 I accepted a full-time faculty position with Penn College’s Paramedic Training program. Although I stopped working at the Williamsport Hospital when I accepted the faculty position, I continued to work part-time as a paramedic for other ALS services. In 2006, I accepted a part-time position working as a certified flight paramedic for Geisinger Health System. Also in 2006, I accepted a job as the EMS Operations Manager for Jersey Shore Area EMS. Jersey Shore Area EMS is a fire department based 911 EMS system. In 2017, I decided that it was time to slow down. In that year, I resigned from my flight paramedic and EMS Operations Manager positions. In 2022, I accepted the Paramedic Program Director’s position at Penn College. During my 32 years in the volunteer fire service, I held multiple positions including EMS captain, fire captain, company president, and fire chief. My proudest accomplishments during my time in the fire service was spearheading the move from a QRS service to BLS transport service and securing over in AFG grant funding for my department. I have an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, a Bachelor of Science Degree & Master of Science degree from the University of St. Francis. In addition, like many individuals that I spent their life in the fire service and EMS, I have numerous fire and EMS related certifications.
