About Braelyn Beaty

I am a second-year Psychology and Social Work major at Ball State University. I am studying both Social Work and Psychology in hopes to become a Forensic Psychologist or a Social Worker in the justice system. I plan on attending a graduate school after I receive my undergraduate degrees. During my time at Ball State, I have volunteered at our local Ross Community Center to help young children in their studies. I, also, joined the College Mentors for Kids program to help give K-5 children a safe and enjoyable place to go at the end of a long school day. These volunteer experiences helped me gain many interpersonal skills. I work at Silver Birch of Muncie. Silver Birch is an assisted living facility for the 55 and older community. At Silver Birch, I get to work with the residents on an everyday basis. I provide them with services that they may not be able to do due to their health issues. I hope to bring them comfort and make them feel at home because it is their home. Outside of my studies and work, I help the Muncie Central Color Guard. After I graduated high school, I began volunteering with the same color guard that I was involved in. I am an instructor/coach along with three other coaches.
