My interests lie in the biological control of pests. I am especially fascinated by the immense impact these tiny creatures have on our everyday lives. In my studies, I focus on both ecological as well as organismal aspects because I believe that only when combining these two facets one can understand why pest insects are so successful as well as coming up with novel ways of controlling them. I enjoy brainstorming with other people to come up with exciting new questions and ways to answer them. Furthermore, I get a lot of satisfaction out of teaching students in several ecologically focused courses as well as supervising them during their thesis projects"
