About Bram Samyn

Aerospace engineering student and propulsion enthusiast, with a strong interest in both aerodynamics and (space) propulsion systems. I’m driven by curiosity and grounded in the Kaizen principle: continuous, incremental improvement whether in life, learning, or engineering. Although I’m still a student, I’ve already gained hands-on experience in advanced propulsion research. I’m currently conducting my thesis at the von Karman Institute (VKI), where I’m developing a reduced-order model for Rotating Detonation Engines (RDEs). In addition, I previously worked on RDEs during my internship at PD-AeroSpace. Outside of academics, I dedicate my free time to developing a Rocket Propulsion Design Code. This tool uses computational engineering methods to design propulsion systems and their key components such as injectors, thrust chambers, and pumps and automates tasks like mesh generation and CFD simulations. It’s a passion project that bridges theory with practical application and aims to assist in propulsion system analysis and design. 🧭 Sic Parvis Magna "Greatness from small beginnings"
