A quick learner with a strong work ethic, I pride myself on tackling any task that’s thrown at me. Challenges energize me, which helps me successfully lead others through critical business changes. Having led high-performing teams, I’m often selected to lead “tiger” teams, where a laser focus on problem-solving and an ability to leverage the skills of others is essential to maximizing performance and achieving profitable growth. As a systems engineering manager at Cisco, I always put my team first, focusing on coaching through stretch assignments and celebrating successes. I identify individual talents and care about helping my team further develop skills and achieve their personal goals. My goal is to empower them, teaching proven steps to success while providing guidelines and feedback to help them prepare for what’s next. In addition to my experience in leading teams, I am able to identify, strategize, and capture new market opportunities and streamline processes. I always strive to do an exceptional job, driving projects from inception to completion. I never miss details or deadlines, and I’m not easily outworked. Growing up in Oklahoma, I didn’t follow a typical career path to a technical leadership role in the engineering field. I worked on physically demanding jobs, which allowed me to develop my organizational skills and demonstrate my strong Midwestern work ethic. As a natural learner, I enjoy taking complex problems and translating them into bite-sized, simplistic ideas using terminology anyone can understand. I learned early on in my career that building relationships comes first. Through my leadership experience, ability to solve problems, and exceptional work ethic, I bring value in developing long-lasting relationships with employees, customers, stakeholders, and partners.
