About Brandon Bean

Inspiring excellence by meeting students where they are! This is a model that guides my student and parent interactions, the environment of my classroom, and the direction of my professional development. Through this motto, I have been able to inspire students to become avid readers, unmotivated learners to become classroom leaders, and quiet students to become advocates for their learning and the learning of others. This is my 7th year as an educator and 6th as a special education teacher. In my time as an educator, I have obtained the following accomplishments- KIC Cadre Member - Selected as a district model co-teach team - Selected as one of five co-teach teams to participate in the TASN Access for All program - Selected to Pilot the TASN Online UDL training - Appointed District Access for All Liaison - Had a student earn the 2020 TASN Kansas Infinitec Coalition Student Technology Award - Member of Building Leadership Team - Member of District Technology and Curriculum Advisory Board - Digital Text Coaching Series - Building Coach (Infinitec Coalition)- Trained as a co-teaching coach - Was awarded two separate grants for Tier 1 and Tier 3 interventions In 2020, Friends University asked me to participate as an alumni representative for their Fall 2020 Professional Education Board Advisory Council (PEBAC). As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), I spent over 5 years working at Via Christi St. Francis in the Emergency Room. During this time, I took on all EMT students who did their ER rotation at St. Francis. In 2008, I had the privilege of stepping into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Advisor Role at Pratt Community College as the college searched for a replacement to the previous advisor. During my role as Advisor, we attended a leadership conference, brought a Relay for Life team back to Pratt CC, and hosted a blood drive. In 2007, I facilitated a drop-off location for donations at Pratt CC for families affected by the Greensburg Tornado.
