Background
About Brandon Bell
I'm an experienced housing director for a large, multi-state organization with nearly 15 years' experience in managing and executing federal, state and local grants. I currently manage an $80 million COVID-related assistance program in partnership with the City of Raleigh and Wake County Government. I also manage a multi-agency network of housing counseling and education providers serving as a national intermediary for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. I have ample experience in high-demand program service delivery and management of high volumes of staff and their supervisors. I've been with my current organization since 2013 and in my position as director since 2015. I've worked with other agencies and local government's economic development divisions helping them to build-out their programs and improve capacity. I've also furthered our agency's dedication to furthering fair housing in our mid-Atlantic region, bringing outreach, education, and fair housing enforcement to communities there through increased funding from HUD and local government. In 2019 our technical representative with HUD noted in an annual audit that we were the model agency and went above and beyond in our service delivery and program design. In 2016, me and my team created a financial coaching program based on a co-active model and implemented it as a key component to our service delivery to low-income parents in our Head Start programs in North Carolina and Indiana. Prior to my tenure with my current organization, I served as the Chief Operations Officer for a small housing and credit counseling organization in western North Carolina. We provided Debt Management Plans, foreclosure prevention solutions, first-time homebuyer programs, and pre/post bankruptcy education and counseling. We administered homeowner assistance funds following the 2008 financial crisis through the NC Housing Finance Agency's Mortgage Payment Program and prevented more than 1,100 foreclosures across a 3-year span under my leadership. I have a strong work ethic that insists on taking responsibility and holding staff and others accountable. I recruit high-performing, value-added team members who deliver results and provide the greatest benefit to the company. I'm not afraid of long hours or hard work. I strive to demonstrate excellence in everything I do and I've always believed that your work is representative of your character and that your word should mean something. I make a great addition to a team that is dedicated to producing products and services of quality.
