About Brandon Berens

Through a life of hardship, music and scholarship have given me the opportunity to excel in leadership at the University of Texas at Arlington through organizations including Student Government Senator for the College of Liberal Arts, Vice President of Collegiate Texas Music Educators, Director of External Relations of Malala's Mavericks, New Maverick Orientation Leader, Freshman Leaders on Campus, Terry Scholars, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity, and many more. I have a full-time job as a guitar instructor and early education specialist with The Salvation Army, as well as two part-time jobs as a Cellist in Dallas and a Private Cello Instructor in Arlington. I am currently the Assistant Orchestra Director at Murphy Middle School in Plano ISD, in addition to gigging consistently in the greater DFW Metroplex. I maintained a 4.0 GPA, served as principal cellist of the UTA Symphony Orchestra, and allowed time to tutor my peers in a variety of studies. My skills include private instruction, intermediate conducting, group facilitation, unwavering positivity, empathic teaching, inspirational communication, and passionate drive for excellence in all things.
