About Brandon Bradke

I have passed the PE test as of May 8, 2023 and am waiting until March 2025 to meet the experience requirement to apply for a P.E. After graduating in December 2020, I began working at ARDOT in Bridge Design. I became proficient in several design software packages, most notably Bentley's suite. In addition to software competency, I increased my understanding of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to become knowledgeable about the process of designing from site development to finalization of construction plans. I also became proficient in refined analysis methods such as strut-and-tie. After working for ARDOT for 3.5 years, I decided to join Hawkins-Weir Engineers to undertake a new challenge in my career. In this position, I am translating my previous design experience in bridges to more general structures. I have adapted my knowledge to a new set of design softwares, most notably RISA 3D. In conjunction with new software, I have become more well-rounded in my code knowledge. Having previously used mostly the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, I now refer and design to ACI 318, ACI 350, and ASCE 7 frequently.
