About Brandon Collins

Public health is my passion! I am a driven public health professional dedicated to improving public health systems and expanding harm reduction services for structurally marginalized communities. As an epidemiologist and applied public health researcher, I'm committed to strengthening surveillance, advancing evidence-informed interventions, and supporting programs that reduce preventable illness, overdose and health inequities. I've gained experience across statewide infectious disease surveillance, community-based harm reduction, critical access hospital quality improvement, and interdisciplinary research partnerships. My work includes leading surveillance for enteric diseases at the Indiana Department of Health, securing foundation funding for harm reduction programming, and supporting community health needs evaluation, program operations and field outreach. Across roles, I bridge data and real-world implementation. I have conducted epidemiologic analyses, supported outbreak response strategies, collaborated with academic research teams, and supported public health programming rooted in community trust and guided by their expertise. My interests include infectious disease epidemiology, harm reduction, surveillance system design, and community-engaged public health research.
