About Brandon Cote

I have always wanted to make a positive impact in people's lives and work towards solving issues that we all face. The main barrier that I have found to change is a lack of understanding. During my time at DePaul I became the Vice President of the Chinese Studies Association and joined SupChina as a Student Ambassador to further promote a greater overall knowledge of Chinese history and culture. For I believe, it is this relationship that will shape the next century. Since graduating, I moved to begin working in Washington DC, at a court reporting company. Some of my main duties include working independently and as a team reviewing and processing legal transcripts, working with electronic and hard copy exhibits, processing and syncing video files to transcripts, corresponding with law firms, court reporters, and business directors to solve any issues that might arise during the production process, and providing audio and transcription outlines for congressional Senate and House hearings. I also worked as an intern before starting my current position, at Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community where I spoke with local community leaders in Chicago to coordinate efforts to improve voter turnout, planned and scheduled educational community events involving local government officials and nonprofit organizations centered on getting out the vote, and organized and headed phone and text banking sessions for volunteers of the organization. Outside of work, I enjoy keeping up to date on current world events, spending time with friends and family, playing board games, and cooking new recipes in the kitchen.
