About Brandon Ingram

A part time romantic and full time dreamer, I took a break from an 11 year career in advertising – which began at J. Walter Thompson, in 2003 – to embark on a nomadic journey that included everything from love affairs in Venice to writing residencies in Hampi, making devised theatre in Colombo to marketing events in Galle, waiting tables in Hikkaduwa to managing a bar in Arugam Bay. I'm both fascinated by and passionate about storytelling, and use the mediums of books, songwriting & singing, poetry, theatre, film, and both social and digital media to create and be a part of the stories I want to tell. I am a firm believer that brands are built on stories too, and that the challenge of the creative, especially in the context of today, is to learn how to tell compelling stories on their behalf. The recipient of a Silver Sumathi for Television and a number of SLIM, Chilies, Effies, and Epica Awards, I was also part of a team that was ranked the 5th most Effie Awarded Agency in the world, according to the Global Effie Index (2012). Five years of otherworldly experiences later, I returned to advertising in June of 2019, to the company I began my career at - with its name changed to Wunderman Thompson - as its Senior Creative Director. In September 2022, having completed my Masters in Mass Communication, I joined the team at Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts as their Director of Content & Design.
