About Brandon Kage

During my senior year of high school, I was very confident that I wanted to pursue business as a degree and career path. So, I attended courses at my local college SUNY Broome and received my associate degree in Business Administration. However, after taking all those business courses I lost the desire I once had for it during high school. I took a year off from school and went from working part time to full time as a team sports lead at Dick’s Sporting Goods (2017-2018). Over the course of the year off I had a lot of time to think about my future, and research different career paths. I was always interested in the construction field and the fact that it’s one of the fastest growing industries as of 2018 made me even more intrigued. My cousin attended SUNY Delhi, so I started looking into the programs that were offered and the Construction Management Bachelor’s program immediately caught my attention. It was a done deal when I did more research and found out that it’s 100% guaranteed job placement straight out of college and they offer a paid internship in your third year second semester. I came to visit SUNY Delhi in March of 2018 and had a meeting with Professor Gary Bracket to make sure all my credits from SUNY Broome would transfer. Now I’m already 4 semesters in and I've received my OSHA 30 card and gained not only hands-on skills but skills using software like AutoCad, Revit, Project Management, Excel, BlueBeam, and Procore. I am expected to graduate in 2021 with my Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. My future goal is to work as a project manager on commercial building projects.
