About Brandon Kwong

I am a software engineer who values diversity, inclusion, and kindness; and am bolstered by nearly 15 years of multi-disciplinary experiences in technical consultation, individual contribution (IC), and leadership development. I am particularly interested in helping those who build technology to those who are affected by it.My journey in software began with teaching myself at a young age, and I consider myself a life-long learner. After graduating with a BA in Psychology on a mission to help people at an organizational level, I focused on student leadership at universities and capacity building with non-profits; while opportunistically incorporating my web development skills.Fast-forward, I have spent the last 10+ years practicing software development as a craft with modern frameworks and technologies in both IC and technical lead roles, where my communication and leadership abilities have allowed me to advocate for those I work with to be successful. It has been a passion of mine, as well as making organizational change.Practiced in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodology; Web & Mobile Applications; Exploratory Research, Technical Writing, Code Reviews, Peer Testing, 1:1 Mentoring & Coaching, Leadership Development, Cultural Competency.Full-stack application development with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, React Native, Tailwind, SASS, CSS-in-JS, Node.js, Java, Serverless, GraphQL, Apollo, AWS, Android, iOS, Xcode.
