Background
About Brandon Pardy
Remote/Hybrid work from Nunatsiavut is more important to me than level/position at this stage in my career. Substantive- EC-07 Manager with PSPC in the Federal Lands for Housing Sector. French CB(oral untested) Brandon’s career is highlighted by advancing distinction-based Indigenous rights and interests within the federal system. He is known for his calm, empathetic and solution oriented leadership while working in a complex multijurisdictional or interdepartmental context with multiple competing stakeholder, Indigenous partner, legal, policy and political interests. Brandon has demonstrated success in analyzing complex challenges, engaging with partners and stakeholders and identifying areas of common ground and delivering results for Indigenous people and Canadians. Brandon has led the conclusion of an Agreement-in-Principal and advanced other agreements as a Federal negotiator as well as led implementation of Modern Treaties in multiple departments. Brandon has drafted and led teams through complex, multibillion-dollar Memoranda to Cabinet processes such as the Aboriginal Skills and Employment Training Strategy and the Urban, Rural, and Northern Housing Strategy as well as supporting departments in the successful navigation and supporting evaluation of policy instruments to reflect obligations to Indigenous rights and interests. Brandon has also co-chaired or led three different Inuit-Crown Partnership Committee working groups and deliverables in two departments and a Crown Corporation delivering on Inuit Nunangat approaches and priorities. Brandon identifies as a Labradore or Labradorian. Of the English ethnic named identities once commonly ascribed to, and used by, the hybrid Inuit and settler people of Labrador. It had meaning for both the Indigenous population and settler populations, prior to the word Labradorian being later coopted by those who came to reside in Labrador. Brandon’s academic background is rooted in Indigenous knowledge systems coupled with Environmental sciences (bioremediation, natural systems and GIS) as well as Environmental studies (social dynamics and people management) and a Masters in Indigenous ways of knowing and sustainable communities.
