About Brandon Prevatte

A seasoned veteran of the construction industry whose career began in the heavy highway sector after an honorable discharge from eight years of service in the Army. Working for a bridge and roadway builder before returning to school to pursue a long-standing dream of becoming a commercial diver. After working for a short hitch in the Gulf of Mexico supporting the oil fields, I returned to a more familiar environment working for a heavy marine construction contractor. For the next three years, my experience grew while mostly performing inspection and repairs to wharfs, piers and bridge pilings. When presented the opportunity to return home to become a contract bridge and roadway inspector for the North Carolina Department of Transportation I accepted the challenge. Spending the next four years overseeing projects as small as single span core slab bridge replacements on two lane secondary roads, to large multiple span girder bridge construction on interstates. In 2022 along with business partners, I left the DOT to pursue our goals of owning a firm and winning contract awards with the NCDOT. In just a short time Chicora has served multiple clients that includes both the public and private sectors and has been a prominent figure on multiple projects. A few of my key past projects include South Carolina State Port Authority Wando Wharf Repairs & Improvements, Apache Fishing Pier Repair and Replacement, Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park, I-295 Fayetteville Outer Loop, Bridge 431 over Jacob Swamp Grading, Drainage, Paving & Structure, and Bridge 154 over Big Gully which was a structure replacement as well as a roadway realignment. I have led inspections for bore and jack operations, utility waterline installations, storm drain structures, milling and resurfacing projects, MSE wall construction, and turn-key bridge construction.
