About Brandon Schechter
Experienced professor and award winning researcher. Most of my research focuses on the Soviet Union in the 1930s-1940s, but my teaching spans the globe and the modern period. I have taught courses on capitalism and communism (in Shanghai), material culture, history in the headlines, and understanding violence, to name a few. My first book won a major award from the American Historical Society and I am currently busy writing a comparative history of chaplains in the US Army and political workers in the Red Army. While currently oriented towards the academic market, I am always curious to know how I may be of service to people in other fields.
