About Brandon Sledge

About Me I feel that I have made the most of the resources around me which has made me a successful young man so far in my lifetime. Since I was born on December 5, 1991 I have been around good people and I am very grateful for the opportunities that have been presented to me over the years. My parents, Lincoln and Dawn Sledge, have motivated me when I was down and out but I would not be where I am without them. I am the eldest out of four brothers and helped raised them since birth. My parents always said that I always had a leadership mentality and that I have a creative mind since loved to write stories. I was and I still am fascinated with sports. I played football from the age of 7 to the age of 15. I attended Crestview High School for four years and I maintained a 3.6 grade point average throughout my high school career graduating in the top 17% of my class of 450 students. My senior year of high school was my best year as I was a part of the journalism club and wrote for the school newspaper. I maintained excellent grades and earned a Navy ROTC Scholarship worth up I graduated high school in June 2010. In 2010 I enrolled at Dillard University in New Orleans and I also enrolled in the Tulane NROTC program at Tulane University. My first year of college was quite different compared to college because of the block scheduling and the demands of studying a lot longer. Classes were challenging but I maintained good grades and ended my first year with a 3.5 grade point average. I made the Dean's List in 2011 which is my favorite accomplishment so far in my lifetime. I also made the academic honor roll in 2011 because of my 3.4 grade point average. Dillard University has enabled me to live my lifelong dream of becoming a sports journalist and obtaining a degree in mass communications with a concentration in print.
