About Brandon Stevens

I am currently an incoming Instructor of Practice for the CBE Department at the University of Tennessee. In previous roles, I worked in the chemical industry at Honeywell and Eastman, and I was a high school chemistry teacher at St. Christopher's School. At Honeywell, I served as a Lead Process Engineer supporting the Spectra Fiber process. In this role, I provided plant support for the Spectra Fiber production process along with support of potential capital expansions. During my time at Eastman, I spent 7 years in Process Engineering, where I performed Aspen Simulation, CFD modeling, equipment design and rating, and capital cost estimation for early level projects. I spent 2 years in the Scaleup and Process Innovation Division performing Aspen Simulation for conceptual level projects, project leadership, and Alternate Means of Supply identification for various projects. I also spent 1.5 years in the Corporate Tax division where I led the Research and Development Tax Credit (Internal Revenue Code Section 41) effort and assisted with other specialty tax projects that required engineering expertise, such as Tangible Property Repair Classification for Section 162 of the IRC. I then returned to Process Engineering and served as a project leader in support of feasibility study jobs and technical definition packages for new capital projects. I previously volunteered with the Engineers Without Borders-USA Tri-Cities TN Professional Chapter where I served as the Vice President. I also held the role of Fundraising Coordinator in 2016-2017.
