About Brandon Townend

After teaching children Kickboxing and Self Defence for 7 years, in March of 2020 I decided to revisit my childhood dream of working in the Creative Industry! I then scouted an opportunity with Channel 4 and SharpFutures in their Content Creatives course. This was an amazing experience that did more than just teach and develop my skills, it also helped me understand the industry, but even more so, myself too. I had 6 weeks in a training bootcamp with SharpFutures before starting my 8 week work placement with Channel 4 on 24th October 2022. Before diving back into the pond, I taught martial arts to children for 7 years - helping them progress, not just in martial arts, but personal growth; respect, discipline and perseverance just to name a few. I taught classes up to 32 children in a school (at its peak) of 400 students. During this career, I climbed up the ladder from starting as a junior volunteer to then a paid assistant just before my 15th birthday, to ultimately land me as the Head Instructor, where I also got the experience of managing other staff.
