About Brandon Williams

As a recent Ph.D. graduate in Plant Biology from Cornell University, I bring a strong foundation in molecular biology, synthetic biology, and plant physiology, with hands-on experience across a broad range of research techniques. My dissertation, titled “Identifying, Characterizing, and Reprogramming CEP Signaling in Tomato,” advanced the understanding of long-distance peptide signaling in plants and demonstrated novel applications of synthetic biology in complex crop systems. Through my doctoral work, I gained deep expertise in gene expression analysis, transgenic plant development, RNA sequencing, bioinformatics, confocal microscopy, and the design of synthetic gene circuits. Beyond the bench, my work required rigorous scientific communication, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and independent project management—all of which have equipped me with a versatile and adaptable skill set. Looking ahead, I am excited to apply my scientific training in impactful and dynamic roles across diverse sectors. I am particularly interested in opportunities related to: Science Policy and Advocacy Scientific Publishing and Editing Patent and Intellectual Property Work Biotech Sales and Technical Support (e.g, GenScript) Greenhouse and Research Facility Management Public Horticulture and Botanic Garden Programming I am driven by a passion for translating complex scientific concepts into real-world solutions and look forward to contributing to innovation, sustainability, and education in my next chapter.
