About Brandy W.

I am an early career librarian with one and half years of professional library experience, and eight years of paraprofessional library experience in academic and public libraries. I hold a Masters in Library Science, as well as a certificate of Advanced Study in Management in Libraries and Information Agencies from the University of North Texas. As a Youth Services Librarian, I served as Head of the Youth Services Department where I provided services for youth (birth to 18), families and caregivers: storytime, STEM programs, provided outreach to local schools, and coordinated teen volunteer opportunities. I have experience in collection development and management (weeding, stack maintenance, ordering, managing departmental budgets), and grant writing. What I value most as an employee is collaborative learning, creative expression, engaging in efforts that advance and support DEIB efforts, career growth opportunities, and communication. My interests are constantly evolving, and I am always exploring current issues as they arise.
