About Brandy Young

Brandy Young has been a registered nurse for 9 years and comes from a 50-bed public hospital in Central Washington. She worked as a Clinical Informatics Specialist and was able to bring the hospital to HIMSS Level 6 in 4 years. Other accomplishments included being able to attest to Meaningful Use Stage 1 in 2011 and continued to implement electronic systems to make the hospital the “Most Wired” (an award) for 5 consecutive years. During her time as an Informaticist she enjoyed getting into the data and details of why something worked or didn’t work and found ways to improve electronic health records to be more efficient for the end users. She loved the surveying and data reporting aspect of her job which lead her to the Department of Health as a Nursing Consultant. Brandy is new to the area coming from a small town called George, Washington; which interestingly enough was founded by Charlie Brown. There is Colonial Market (a grocery store/post office) and Martha’s (a restaurant/bar) and that’s about it in the town of George. However, during the summer it is busy with concert goers as it is most known for the Gorge Amphitheater – “the Gorge at George”. During her, spare time she enjoys going to concerts, attending sporting events (mostly NFL and soccer), golfing, camping and boating. But if the weather is not permitting, she enjoys going to the movies, wining and dining, and spending time with friends and family at home.
